Our transportation department along with Cocoa the school bus came to our building this week. They made a special visit to teach us all about bus safety and the importance of following rules both on and off of the bus. We loved seeing our bus drivers and learning from them!

Our school will be participating in Red Ribbon Week. This will take place October 26th-30th. See the schedule above to to see how your child can participate each day in our school wide initiative to respect ourselves and stay drug free. Mr. Schraudner, our guidance counselor, came in our classroom on Thursday to explain why we are
participating in Red Ribbon Week and how we can make good choices and respect ourselves. We saw an awesome assembly last week! The Youth Alliance, former Harlem Globetrotter
Seth Franco and DTSD addressed a serious subject. Bullying is everybody’s problem—the victim, the perpetrator, and the bystander. The upbeat assembly helped address this issue from each standpoint so that students are equipped to handle negative situations and create a healthier overall environment Our afternoon class gets to be book buddies with Ms. Lupachini's 3rd grade class.
We just can't wait to see them every Thursday! Here is a reminder of all of our spirit days that we will be having this year.
Let's show a sense of school pride and dress for the fun each day! The kids brought in an apple to share for apple day. We sorted the apples and I cut them up and we went on our very own apple walk. We walked around the room and tasted all of the different kinds of apples. The kids loved it! Look closely on the tables and you will see our cute number/art project that we did with the story, Ten Apples Up on Top. We also played a Johnny Appleseed dice/number recognition game. We had so much fun on Apple Day!
This is Gem, our school therapy dog.
She got to stay with us for the morning and we just loved it! Morning kindergartners with our first grade book buddies from Mrs. Brandt's first grade class.
We read with our buddies every Friday. What a fun way to meet new friends, share our love of reading and end a hard week of learning! Some first week of school writing, tracing, cutting and gluing.
The kids loved the story of The Kissing Hand. |
