Parent conferences will be held next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The dates are March 21st, 22nd and 23rd. All parents have been notified and have a scheduled time. Jump over to my website to see when your child's conference is scheduled by tapping in the top left hand corner of the screen on the small button that has 3 little lines! Then, tap the word home and that will take you to our website! Can't wait to meet with everyone again!
Mrs. Kozak, our elementary school nurse, came to our class and she talked about ways the kindergartners can take care of themselves. She also covered important things to do each day to keep them healthy. The kids each brought a chart, like the one below, for you to look over and fill out together. Your kindergartner can check off "me" if they can do these things themself. They can check off "grownup" if they need to be reminded by a grownup to do the things they need to do or if a grownup needs to do it for them. You can keep the chart as a reminder of what your kindergartner needs to practice doing by themselves or to do better. We were lucky to have Mrs. Kozak come to our room today!
We had the pleasure of learning about 3 different countries at the International Fair classroom visits today. The kids loved it and hope that you can make it to family night on Friday, March 18 from 5:00-8:00! The kids brought their passports home with them today in their folders. Don't forget to bring those along with you to the fair! See more information about the fun night below and some pictures from today's classroom presentations. The parents involved today, during this week and through family night have worked so hard to bring our school such a wonderful opportunity for our kids. These are the afternoon kindergartners listening to a story told to children in Malaysia. The morning kids got to see this presentation, too! These are the morning kindergartners learning about all about Germany. The morning kids are learning all about the many different languages spoken in Switzerland. The afternoon kids are boarding the ship and playing Dominoes just like the kids in Puerto Rico. The afternoon kindergartners are finding
Ireland on the world map! We had such a fun week of celebrating reading, rhyming, fun days and learning. The kids also really did a great job reading at home and returning their reading logs each day. We met our reading goal with the kids at our school and the elementary school and have earned a movie day!
We started our Read Across America week celebration with some silly sock day fun! We read read "Fox in Socks", written by Dr. Seuss, and made fox puppets to practice reading words and even our silly nonsense words!
